Ivy Tech to offer manufacturing courses for high school students
High school juniors and seniors can earn up to six college credits and earn a national manufacturing certification free of charge during Ivy Tech Community College's Summer Technical Middle College.
Students can attend two advanced manufacturing courses during a six week period from June 15 through July 24. Classes are held each weekday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and include a one hour break. Course credit may apply towards most degree programs in Ivy Tech's School of Technology and School of Applied Science and Engineering Technology. The courses may also apply towards a student's high school technical honors diploma.
Other activities include hands-on exercises, equipment demonstrations, plant tours, guest speakers from local industries, and career day. Participants will also attend Purdue University's Engineering Day.
