Ivy Tech Community College's School of Technology will hold a free TECHKNOW DAY open house April 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Griffin Hall on the Lafayette campus. The public can tour the technology labs and watch hands-on demonstrations. College faculty, students and alumni will be on hand to answer questions. Brown County State Park's THIRD ANNUAL MOREL MUSHROOM FESTIVAL will be May 2. The festival features guided hikes, music, an arts and crafts fair, cooking demonstrations, children's events and much more. The Friends of Brown County State Park group will sell mushrooms at the Nature Center at 1 p.m. No fee will be charged for the program but there is a gate fee per vehicle. SUSAN WITTIG ALBERT, author of the China Bayles Mysteries, will speak April 27 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Monticello Public Library, 321 W. Broadway St. The event, sponsored by the Friends of the Library, is free and open to the public.
