      Ivy Tech Community College's School of Technology will hold a free TECHKNOW DAY open house April 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Griffin Hall on the Lafayette campus. The public can tour the technology labs and watch hands-on demonstrations. College faculty, students and alumni will be on hand to answer questions.       Carroll Athletic Boosters Carroll Athletic Boosters recently agreed to pay half of the $3,000 needed to purchase new varsity uniforms for the basketball team. The new jerseys will cost about $100 per set, shirt and short, for a total of $1,500 per color. The school athletic department committed to paying the other half of the costs.

      Jim and Karen Scanlon Whitworth, 1125 King St., Lafayette, are parents of an 8- pound son, Kade Garrett, born April 17 at Home Hospital, Lafayette. Grandparents are George and Karen Rodgers of Camden and Marlene Scanlon of Florida. Paternal greatgrandmother is Catherine Roy of Texas.

      The town will pick up leaves and limbs as time permits. Leaves should be in bags and limbs tied in bundles for pick up. Those having debris for pick up should call the town office at 686-2121. The Camden Library's "Winter Into Spring" reading club will draw to a close on April 25.

Burlington
      The Youth League Ball Parade will be held Saturday, starting at 12 noon. The Kiwanis Club will be serving free hot dogs and soft drinks at the park. Kiwanis Club will meet Saturday morning for breakfast and meeting at 7:30 a.m. at the fire station. The club is accepting donations for its annual consignment auction to be held May 9.

      Faith Lutheran Church Women will meet on Monday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. They will be working on the unity quilt. Anyone interested in helping with this project is welcome to attend. Faith Lutheran Outreach Group is still working on the backpack program. Their goal is 255 jars of peanut butter and they have until the end of April for people to donate.

      Friends Day will be held on Thursday, April 30, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. at the 4-H Building in Flora. The event is planned as a day of sharing and learning with friends. This year's theme is "Be A Shining Star." The three programs are listed below.

      Delphi Public A potluck movie and meal night will be April 22 at 6:30 p.m. Guests will decide what movie to watch from a 'potluck' selection and will share a pot luck dinner before the movie. Participants are asked to bring a covered dish and table service.

Deer Creek Alumni gather for 95th meeting
      The 95th Deer Creek Alumni Association met recently at the Deer Creek Community Center with 85 in attendance. The dinner was catered by the Stone House Restaurant of Delphi. Larry Jones gave the invocation before the meal. President Charles Appleton conducted the business meeting. The entertainment was a Sing-a-Long with Deb Binford of Logansport playing the keyboard.
