Johnnie F. Dyer
Johnnie F. Dyer, 52, of Flora, died Thursday, April 9, 2009, at his residence.
Born Dec. 21, 1956, in Kokomo, he was the son of Joe and Ottie Curtis Dyer. He graduated from Carroll High School in 1975. In 1978 he married Karen June Cruse, who preceded him in death in 1983.
Mr. Dyer worked at Burlington Meats for over 13 years.
From 1975 to 1978 he served in the United States Air Force.
He enjoyed fishing, reading and NASCAR.
Surviving are a son, Steve D. Dyer (companion: Marilyn Wooten) of Lafayette; his mother of Burlington; three grandchildren, Gwendolyn, Christian, and Brandon Cruse; a brother, Bob Dyer (wife: Tammy) of Burlington; three sisters, Sandy Dyer of Russiaville, Anita Johnson of Flora, and Nancy Dyer of Burlington; and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his father.
Services were held Monday evening at Stout & Son Funeral Home, Neptune Chapel, Burlington. Military rites were performed. The Rev. Dr. Peter Roussakis officiated. Private burial was at Burlington Cemetery.
