Delphi CWF

The CWF of the Delphi Christian Church met April 6 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare. Pat Curts was hostess.

Thirteen members answered roll call by telling about their favorite Easter outfit. Juanita Scott was a guest.

A letter was read from the Pembertons, who are missionaries to Africa.

Officers for next year are: Winnie Beard, president; Fairy Hackerd, vice president; Cindy Newman, secretary; Nancy Cripe, treasurer; and Lee Nydegger, cheer.

Winnie Beard gave the lesson on Numbers 6:25.

There will be a rummage and bake sale at the church on May 16.

The next meeting will be a carry-in dinner on May 4.

Wednesday Forum

Members of the Wednesday Forum met at the home of Norma Mullin for their April meeting. Jerry Landes presented a program about Indiana artist Nancy Noel. Noel specializes in Amish people and children's art.

Associate Chapter of Tri Kappa

The Delphi Associate Chapter of Tri Kappa met April 7 for lunch and a meeting at Solomon's Grill.

The meeting was conducted by co-president, Pat Duff. Mary Helen Abbott informed members the project for the year will be a donation to the food pantry.

Theme for the month is "Surprise for Others." Each member donated to purchase potted pansies for residents at Carroll Manor.

State convention will be April 18-19 at the Marriott Hotel in Indianapolis.

Installation of the following elected officers for 2010 will be conducted in May: Pat Duff and Mary Helen Abbott, co-presidents; Marjorie Clifford, vice-president; Mary Wesner, secretary; and Mary Brown, treasurer.

Delphi Rotary Club

Delphi Rotary Club met April 7 at the Delphi United Methodist Church.

President Kurtis Fouts welcomed special guest Rep. Joe Donnelly. Donnelly serves on the Financial Services Committee and spoke about the current economic crisis facing the country. He addressed the problems on Wall Street, TARP legislation, GM and Chrysler bailouts, and answered questions from the audience. He noted that Indiana financial institutions are strong and Carroll County has the lowest unemployment rate in his entire congressional district.

Guest Junior Rotarians from DCHS were Ali Canen and Dian Leong, a foreign exchange student from Malaysia. Other guests included Ralph Walker, Jackie Partlow, Julia Bartos, Julia Leahy, Cathy Glendenning, Stan Quinn and Jim Jeffries.
