Family entertainment available this summer
Historic Prophetstown and the Tippecanoe Storytellers Guild have joined together to provide family entertainment throughout the summer with "Stories in the Council House."
The guild will tell stories on the second Saturday night of each month beginning in June and continuing through October.
Guests may walk or ride a trolley through the prairie between 6:30 and 9 p.m. to reach the council house. Many of the stories will feature folklore and legends from the area and have been passed down through the years by oral tradition.
The cost will be $5 a person with kids, three and under, riding for free.
The guild has been sharing stories with the community for over 20 years. Perhaps best known for the "Ghost Tales" at Halloween they also tell stories at libraries, nursing homes, children's groups and community organizations.
Prophetstown is expanding their program this year with Sunday talks, a "Music in the Barn series", classes and special events.
