Shockley Shockley LEE W. HOARD of Delphi, employed with the Indiana Department of Corrections, Program Review Division, completed Detention Facility Inspector Training held March 16-20 in Aurora, Colo.

The training covered ten modules: Introduction, The Job of the Inspector, Expectations of the Inspector, Trends and Issues, Providing Technical Assistance, Building Your Information Base, Building Your Consultation Skills, Conducting Inspections, Ethics for Jail Inspectors, Basics of Construction Plans Review, Keeping on Track, and Closure and Evaluation.

During the training, inspectors conducted a mock inspection of the Denver County, Colo., Jail which holds approximately 2,500 offenders.

The training was sponsored by the United States Department of Justice, National Institute of Corrections in Aurora.

Amedisys Home Health Care has announced the opening of its newest location in Lafayette. The agency will service Tippecanoe, Benton, Carroll, Clinton, Fountain, Montgomery, Warren and White counties.

The agency, located at 938 Mezzanine Drive, Suite A, will operate under the leadership of ALICE BENSON, Flora, and will offer a complete menu of home care services by physician order, including skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical social work and home health aides.

BREWSTER INSURANCE AGENCY was named the 2009 Agency of the Year by Indiana Farmers Mutual during its annual Cooper Club meeting on March 10.

The Burlington agency was selected for the honor based on its growth, profitability, and customer service. This is the third time the local agency has received this prestigious company award.

Brewster Insurance Agency has been in business for more than 80 years and has partnered with Indiana Farmers Mutual for more than 50 years.

Each year, since 1958, Indiana Farmers Mutual has invited a group of premier agencies that have exhibited sales excellence with their company to become members of Cooper Club. These agencies represent the "best of the best" in Indiana's Independent Agency System.

Cooper Club is named in honor of Harry P. Cooper Sr. and Harry P. Cooper Jr., two Indiana Farmers Mutual executives whose combined service totaled more than 97 years.

DONNA J. SHOCKLEY has recently been named First Financial Bank in Delphi's new officer/manager.

Shockley joined First Financial in 1990. Prior to serving as banking center manager she was a supervisor in mortgage lending, a consumer lender and a business banking lender. She has a total of 25 years of experience.

Shockley, a Delphi resident, is a Delphi High School graduate and earned an accounting degree from Indiana Business College.
