'09 Lilly Scholars are named
      The Carroll County Community Foundation has announced the Lilly Endowment Community Scholars for 2009. Carroll senior Kevin Knaus and Delphi senior Nicole Springer will each receive fulltuition, four-year scholarships to an Indiana college of their choice. They will also receive a stipend for required books and equipment.

Carroll Kindergarten Round-Up announced
      Kindergarten Round-Up at Carroll Elementary School will be Thursday and Friday, April 9 and 10. Children must be five years old by Aug. 1, 2009, to attend kindergarten in the 2009- 2010 school year.

DAR Good Citizens are named
      Charles Carroll Chapter of the DAR announces its Good Citizen Award winners for this school year. They are Nicholi James Kauffman from Delphi Community High School and Megan Ayres from Carroll Jr.- Sr. High School. Kauffman has been selected by the state DAR judges as one of the top 13 finalists in this year's contest.

Financial assistance available through TAA
      Financial assistance for area workers, who have recently lost a job and want to complete a bachelor's or master's degree at Indiana University Kokomo, may be available through the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program. The program allows eligible individuals up to two years of paid higher education in order to become more marketable for employment in the region.

Carroll board meets with students
      Carroll School Board members had their annual meeting with the Student Council during the school day on March 17. Among the topics discussed were drugs, cell phones, economic impact on the schools, 10-year plan, and students' "wish list.
