$6 MAN premier coming to Brookston
The Brookston United Methodist Church, 206 E. Fourth St., will host the award-winning independent film "$6 MAN" Sunday evening at 6:30.
The film tells the story of Blake Sorenson, a father who finds himself on the streets with his young daughter, Natalie, after losing his job and wife. He tries to survive on six dollars a day while helping other homeless people and battling government powers that-be.
"The film, "$6 MAN" is not a story about homeless people, but rather the tale of a father and daughter trying to discover how to make a path for themselves when all the poles and props that hold life up seem to be yanked away and all that is left is your sense of humor and whatever love you can carry," said screenwriter Jonathan Richard Cring.
The film, which was a recent entry at the Sundance Film Festival, was produced by the Extra/Ordinary Film Project in Nashville, Tenn., and directed by co-founder Jon Russell Cring.
There is no admission fee. DVDs will be available at the premier.
