Camden Woman's Literary Club
Camden Woman's Literary Club met March 17 at the Camden library. Teresa Daly, owner of "T's Flowers and Things" in Pittsburg presented a program about which plants provide host and nectar sources for Monarch and Black Swallowtail butterflies and how to grow perennial flowers from seed.
The next meeting will be April 21.
CC YMCA
Several announcements and updates came out of the Carroll County YMCA Board of Directors annual meeting and executive session on March 17.
Jessica Huffer started this week as YMCA program director. She has been working at the Y since December as an instructor for the biddy sports and youth basketball programs and as a program assistant for men's basketball. She has coached high school volleyball and junior high basketball at Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School.
Kyle Wagner has been appointed as a new Board member. He is a graduate of Delphi Community High School and works as a Quality Engineer for Delphi of Kokomo.
Carroll County YMCA is actively pursuing a partnership with the Lafayette YMCA, who will provide assessment, program development, and evaluation services in the coming months.
Lindsey Payne will serve as a nonprofit consultant, collaborating with the Lafayette YMCA's Executive Director, Paul Cramer.
Four new programs to begin in April are: adult volleyball, Better Weigh weight loss challenge, youth cheerleading, and youth soccer.
