David E. Rider

Born June 8, 1942, in Delphi, he was the son of H. Keith Rider and Adeline Florence Hoover Rider. He graduated from Burnettsville High School in 1960. On Oct. 8, 1966, he married Joyce E. Page at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi, and she survives.
Mr. Rider was employed in the petroleum department at Excel Co-op in Flora.
He served in the U.S. Army as a Spec. 4 from 1964-1968.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi.
Mr. Rider enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Surviving with his wife are his mother; two daughters, Julie Walter (husband: Jim) of Lanesville and Jill Mao (husband: Jason) of Columbus; two sons, Stephen Rider (wife: Kathy) of Lafayette and Scott Rider (wife: Rosetta) of Monticello; two sisters, Sue Sands (husband: Ben) of Carmel and Judith Spangle (husband: Ralph) of Cutler; two brothers, Charles Rider (wife: Liz) of Tyler, Texas, and Michael Rider (wife: Kathy) of Monticello; mother-in-law, Thelma Hodges of Delphi; and seven grandchildren, Nathan, Holly and Rebecca Rider, Jessica and Jonathan Mao, and Roselyn and Violet Rider.
Preceding him in death were his father and a sister, Beverly Rider.
Services were held Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delphi. Father Peter Vanderkolk officiated. Burial followed at Pretty Prairie Cemetery near Battle Ground.
Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Carroll Manor.
Arrangements were handled by Davidson Funeral Home, Delphi.
