Karl Eugene Brovont

 
Karl Eugene Brovont, 61, of Greentown, the brother of local and area residents, died at 8:45 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2009, at his home.

Born April 28, 1947, in Logansport, he was the son of the late Paul Brovont and Ruth Crook Brovont. He graduated from Camden High School in 1965. On March 9, 1974, in Greentown, he married Dana Howell, who survives.

Mr. Brovont worked for Greentown Equipment for 34 years.

He was a member of Macedonia Christian Church and Greentown Lions Club. He enjoyed traveling, cruises and working on Bobcats. He especially loved family time, being with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving with his wife are three children, Dawn Guffey (husband: Greg) of Indianapolis, Darren Brovont (wife: Andrea) of Markleville and Bethany Wanza (husband: Jason) of Fishers; three brothers and a sister, Kenneth Brovont (wife: Gerri) of West Lafayette, Kathryn Mellinger (husband: Gene) of Rossville, Keith Brovont (wife: Margaret) of Camden and George Brovont (wife: Elaine) of Michigantown; six grandchildren, Alysa and Gavin Guffey, Porter and Hayden Brovont, Laila and Jaxson Wanza; his father-in-law and mother-inlaw, George and Carolyn Howell, Greentown; two brothers-in-law, Brad Howell (wife: Tammy), Greentown, and Mike Howell, Warsaw; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Monday at Macedonia Christian Church, Kokomo. The Revs, Jay Hardison and Mike Greenwood officiated. Interment followed at Greenlawn Cemetery, Greentown.

Memorial contributions may be made to Northwestern University to further research to cure brain cancer.

Hasler-Stout Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
