Taxpayers will receive personal property assessment forms from the Carroll County Assessor's Office in the mail. Township trustees are no longer responsible for the forms.

Individuals needing help filling out forms may leave all pertinent information, along with the forms, for office personnel to complete and a copy will be sent in the mail. Deadline for complete forms is May 15.

All depreciable property, even that which is fully depreciated for income tax purposes, needs to be included when filing. Inventories do not need to be reported and there will be no assessment for boats, RVs, campers or snowmobiles for 2009.

Those who own annually assessed mobile homes, but do not own the land and are responsible for the taxes, can file exemptions in the auditor's office until March 31.
