Personal property assessment forms due
      Taxpayers will receive personal property assessment forms from the Carroll County Assessor's Office in the mail. Township trustees are no longer responsible for the forms. Individuals needing help filling out forms may leave all pertinent information, along with the forms, for office personnel to complete and a copy will be sent in the mail.

      The National Weather Service, working with Carroll County Emergency Management Agency and the Camden Volunteer Fire Department, will conduct a severe storm spotter training on March 11 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Fire Station in Camden.

Two added to Ag Hall of Fame
      Miriam E. Robeson and Jeffrey A. Shanks were inducted into the Carroll County Agriculture Hall of Fame Monday night. The 2009 honorees were announced at the Carroll County Agriculture Association annual meeting and banquet at the 4-H Building in Flora.

      The first annual meeting of the Carroll County Agriculture Association was Monday night at the 4-H Building. Awards and scholarships were presented, directors were elected, and a report was given on the Ag Association's first year.

Head Start accepting applications
      Area IV Head Start is enrolling children from now until May 1 for the 2009- 2010 school year from Carroll, Clinton and White counties. The program to begin this fall is accepting children ages three to five.

Changes for city hall?
      Delphi City Clerk-Treasurer Janice Roe has confirmed preliminary plans to retire from her position in the city building at the end of November. Roe refused to go on record to provide details about those plans. Roe was appointed to the position in 2004 and was elected to serve a four-year term in November 2007.

Political parties vote in officers
      Both Carroll County political parties reorganized their central committees Saturday to choose officers for the next four years. Democrats chose Delphi resident Denise Strasser as party chair. Elected vice-chair was Roger Beckner, secretary Tom VanSickle, and treasurer Irma Cook.

      Nominations are being sought for the Flora Community Club KICK Team's second annual Kickin-It-Up Community Service Award. It is given to a student in grades 7 to 12 in the Carroll Consolidated school district for outstanding citizenship and community service.

Airport board is making plans
      Delphi Municipal Airport Board members met Wednesday night to dream about future plans in a special meeting at the Sportsman Inn near Monticello. According to board treasurer Kyle Germond, who led the meeting in the absence of president Andy Cougill, the meeting was not for formal business procedures.
