Carroll County snowbirds met for their annual get-together in Florida at Homer's Buffet in Sebring. A short meeting followed the meal. Next year, Carroll County Day will be held at the same place, Homer's, on Friday, Feb. 19. More ... Most of you know I'm a Southern girl who grew up in the pine trees of Northern Mississippi. More ... Delphi CWF The CWF of the Delphi Christian Church met March 2 with Katie Cree as hostess. Eight people answered roll call by showing something special that was given to them by a friend. Committees were named for the Easter sunrise breakfast. More ... The record says that the stimulus package recently passed by Congress was drawn up by a conference committee — a bipartisan group of House members and Senators who sat down together to wrangle over its fine print. Really, though, the conference committee was more for show than for actual debate. More ... I rummaged around the computer and the phone, I checked under the file caddie, then patted down the various piles - but no glasses. More ... I'm one of five. Part of the 20 percent. Deer Creek Alumni Banquet The Deer Creek High School Alumni Association Banquet will be held on April 18 at 6 p.m., at the Deer Creek Community Center in Deer Creek. Last year, it was voted to invite all Washington Twp. Carroll County graduates to attend the banquet. Reservations are required by March 31 for those who want to attend. More ... Delphi Public Free Spanish classes for beginners and intermediate students are offered Wednesdays from 6 to 7 p.m. at the library. Registration is necessary. Trained volunteers will help low income and elderly filers every other Saturday through April 11. The next date for assistance is March 14. Filers must call for an appointment. More ... Michael and Stephany (Dyke) Prather of Walton are parents of an 8-pound, 13- ounce son, Grant Michael, born Feb. 24 at St. Vincent Women's Hospital, Indianapolis. Grandparents are Bill and Susie Dyke of Camden and Jack Prather of Logansport. Maternal great-grandmothers are Eleanor Hardy and Theo Dyke, both of Camden. More ...
