Delphi retains Bacon Bowl Skillet

Photo provided The Battle of the Books season ended Feb. 26 with the Delphi team being victorious and retaining the prized Bacon Bowl skillet for the third year in a row.
"Teen Read Week" kicked off the season in October with students receiving a list of 10 selected reading books. Competitions were held Feb. 23 at Delphi Community High School and Carroll Jr.- Sr. High School. Teams answered 150 questions chosen from books which appeared on the reading list. A total of 250 students were involved this year.
The winning teams from Carroll and Delphi faced each other for the championship round at Delphi, with Delphi winning 111 to 101.
The county middle school competitions will be March 10 and the Bacon-Bits Bowl will be March 16 at Carroll.
