Virginia B. Evans

Virginia B. Evans, 84, of Mulberry, formerly of Rossville, died at 3:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2009, at Home Hospital in Lafayette.

Born Oct. 1, 1924, in Clinton County, she was the daughter of Nial and Mabel V. Jervis Bozworth. She was a 1943 graduate of Rossville High School. Her marriage was on May 22, 1943, to John D. Evans, who preceded her in death on June 17, 1982.

Mrs. Evans retired in 1994 from Milner Community Health Care in Rossville after 15 years of employment. She was a nurses aid there for 11 years and a cook for four years.

She was a Christian woman and believed in Jesus Christ.

Surviving are two sons, J. Mark Evans (wife: Irene) of Mulberry and J. Daniel Evans (wife: Dianna) of Kokomo; a daughter, Beth A. Jahrman (husband: Ron) of Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Preceding her in death were a son, Robbin S. Evans, six sisters and four brothers.

Visitation will be Friday, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at Bodine Funeral Home in Rossville. Stephen Covert will officiate. Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Rossville Food Pantry.
