Winter Sports Summaries
DCMS swimming
The DCMS swim team opened its season last week at Frankfort in a boys and girls meet. Both teams came away victorious as the girls won 114-65 and the boys 99-86. Both teams used their superior depth in the wins with 20 boys and 36 girls on the middle school team.
First place finishes went to Karli Edging, 50 free; Shelbey Disinger, diving; Deserae Doremus, fly; Emma Carpenter, 100 free; Jeremie Kauffman, 100 free; Taylor Hudelson, 400 free; Grant Price, 400 free; Laine Rader, Carpenter, Haley Sales, Hudelson, 200 free relay; Austin Coker, Jacob Chapman, Price, Trevor Peters, 200 free relay; Burns, 100 back; Edging, Sales, Carpenter, Hudelson, 400 free relay.
The A team lost a coed meet to Maconaquah 130-56 while DCMS won the B heats 52-42.
DCMS will swim at North Montgomery Wednesday in another boy-girl meet.
Delphi 8th girls
The 8th grade Lady Oracles had to work hard last week to get a win. They played a scrappy Clinton Prairie team that played tough with the Oracles coming out on top 18-14. Thursday, the Oracles traveled to Benton Central to face the always talented Bison. The Oracles were unable to stay up with the sharp-shooting Lady Bison and lost 40-17.
Delphi's record is (6-2); while the B-team's record is (6-2)
