I don't like either of the choices. There are some things that government can do that would help, but this bill has very little in it that will stimulate the economy. The country is being duped. President Obama either doesn't know what is in the bill, or he is lying through his teeth to sell a bunch of socialist programs and pork that he might not be able to sell later individually. This bill will harm the American people and the economy.
The government could help by lifting restrictions that cost industry billions of dollars; by dropping support for the faulty science of global warming; by stopping the micro-management of businesses; by stopping all government payments and services to illegal aliens; by supporting businesses that can create jobs for Americans (not illegals); by staying out of socialized medicine; by reducing the size of government; by spending on things that create long term jobs; and I could go on and on.
Government is not the answer. Printing more money is certainly not the answer. Increasing the national debt is not the answer. The people are the answer. Much of any depression or recession is lack of confidence and emotion. The Democrats spent huge amounts of time and money telling the American people how bad the economy was so they could win the election. Now it is time for them to be encouraging and positive. The same media that convinced people not to spend and invest can be used to turn around our collective view of what is happening.

The results shown for this poll look about right for an agriculture community and the likely demographic of those who take this paper. I wonder if you did a follow up poll and ask how many folks completing your poll were between the ages of 20 and 60 and whether this recession has affected them or a loved one in some way. The rational for the follow up...If the person responding is retired living on both a pension and social security and using Medicare to cover their major medical expenses then...well you see where I am going.
Keep up the good work.
Here is a question for your poll. What is the purpose of a public school?
It is not just to employ faculty, staff, and administrators. It's not so we can have sporting events. It's not for a day care.
I think a public school had something to do with developing productive citizens prepared as best as possible for the world that awaits. THAT'S EVERY STUDENT FOREVER
Failure to do that (by faculty, staff, and administrators) should have a consequence and success at doing that should have a consequence. The student will experience the consequences regardless.
You do not know what is really going on. Big money is being spent now from the last bail out and nothing good has happened yet. And that was before Obama. Everyone has to work hard and just cut back.
