Indiana Farm Bureau Inc. District III is sponsoring a $1,000 scholarship to a Farm Bureau family member. The Carolyn Burkle Scholarship is given in her memory and honors her years of service in working with various community organizations throughout her life.

To be eligible, a member must be accepted in a higher education institution and needs to reside in one of the following eight counties: Benton, Carroll, Cass, Clinton, Jasper, Newton, Tippecanoe or White.

A winner can be awarded this scholarship only once.

The completed application (found at www.carrollcountyfarmbureau. org/scholarships.as p) must be returned to Janet Kemper, District III Woman Leader, by March 1 for evaluation. Mail to 5710 East 700 South, Lafayette, IN 47909 or fax to 765-523-2432.

An applicant must provide a resume demonstrating leadership qualities and participation in school, church and community activities. Applicants also must submit a one-page doublespaced essay on "Why I Am Pursuing This Higher Educational Opportunity."

The selected winner will be recognized at the Farm Bureau District III Spring Meeting. Payment will be made directly to the educational institution.
