Carroll County Farm Bureau Inc. will celebrate Food Check Out Week on Monday, Feb. 16, at 5:30 p.m. at Stephan's IGA in Flora.

Prizes will be given away for answering questions on the "Spinning Wheel." One shopper will be chosen to receive up to $50 for the groceries in his or her cart. A donation also will be made to the Carroll County Food Pantry.

Food Check Out Week is designated during the third week of February because it will take the average American approximately 35 days to earn enough to pay for a year's supply of food but 74 days to earn enough to pay his federal taxes.

Americans enjoy a food supply that is among the safest, most abundant, most affordable in the world.

Farm Bureau board members will be on hand to answer questions on stretching grocery dollars with healthy, nutritious food.
