February is "Love Your Library" month at the Burlington Community Library. Invite a friend to see what your local library has to offer.

Introductory computer classes will be held every Tuesday in February at 10 a.m. This is a great time to come and learn basic skills on the computer as well as to learn about Microsoft Word and Excel. To register for these classes, contact the library at 566-3166.

In February, read off your fines. Those having fees for turning books in late, may come into the library and read those fines off. This will be offered during February only.

Special Saturday hours will also be held during the month, on Feb. 14 and 28. Hours on those days will be from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

The library has the Stephenie Meyer Twilight series available for check out, as well as many other new books.

Carroll County Earned Income Tax Credit Coalition will assist middle and low-income taxpayers with 2008 income tax returns every other Saturday beginning Feb.14. Cal the library for an appointment. Anyone interested in training to become an EITC volunteer should call Kathy Bell at (765) 564-9028.

"Profiles of Abe; Photography Fun" will be held Feb. 11 at 3:30 p.m. Children in grades two to five will explore early photography and cool facts about Abraham Lincoln and his presidency. Portraits in costumes and Civil War period style will be taken. Registration is required.

Coffee Beat will feature The Vagaband Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. The four-member string band of Linda Hicks, Sharon McKnight, Neomi Ybarra and John Howland plays traditional, blue grass, Celtic, and folk songs. Coffee, teas and desserts will be available.

"Snowcake" starring Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, and Carrie Ann Moss will be shown Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. for Cinema Night. The story is about an autistic adult who strikes up an unlikely friendship with a man who was traumatized after an auto accident. Refreshments and discussion will follow.

Federal income tax booklets are now available at the library, while supplies last. We have a limited number of some of the most requested tax forms and can print additional forms for .10/page.

These forms can also be printed at your home from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) website at www.irs.gov. The IT 40 EZ Booklet is only available from the Indiana Department of Revenue site at www.in/gov/dor. Links to both websites are also on our website, www.flora.lib.in.us. Remember...the library staff cannot answer IRS questions or offer any advice.

The library wants to help you in this tough economy. Are you recently laid off or lost your job? Most unemployment information and benefits are done online. Learn How to File for Unemployment, a computer class to help you through Indiana's unemployment process, will be offered on Feb. 12 at10 a.m. This is a hands-on course. Class size is limited. Register for the class at the main desk or call the library, 967-3912.

The theme for next storytime is "Groundhog Day." Will Punxsutawney Phil (famous groundhog) see his shadow? What will happen if he does? Come to storytime and we'll tell you the stories! Storytime is Tuesday morning at 10 a.m.

Listen to stories day and night on the library's Dial-a- Story phone line. Call now to hear, "The Proud Rooster." Friday the story will change to, "The Brave Tin Soldier." Call Dial-a-Story at 967- 3814.
