Comet staff report

A Delphi Preservation Society volunteer callout will be Jan. 25 from 3 to 5 p.m. at 109 S. Washington St. in the historic Opera House building on the east side of Washington St. across from the courthouse. Current volunteers and board members will be present to answer questions. Opera House tours and refreshments will be available.

"Whether you want to swing a hammer, lead tours, help with fundraising events or publicity, we have projects that can match your skills and interest," said Delphi Preservation Society President Greg Norman. "We have many activities planned for 2009 including walking tours of the downtown as the weather warms, historic home tours in October and regular educational and informational programs on Delphi's architecture and cultural history."

Volunteers are needed to help work the fourth Saturday morning of each month. The current renovation worksite is at 105 S. Washington St., previously Jenny's restaurant. The group would like to have the space ready to rent by late spring.
