Farm Bill topic for Saturday's CCAA meeting
Carroll County Ag Association (CCAA) will meet Saturday at 9 a.m. at the 4-H Community Building in Flora.
Following a short general meeting to go over upcoming events, Jacob Maxwell, Carroll County executive director of the Farm Services Agency, will speak on the 2008 Farm Bill. He will present a broad overview of the use of the Federal Farm Programs for the purposes of risk management, introduce the basics of the new ACRE program and what it is intended to accomplish, and discuss major changes to eligibility rules and payment limitations for commodity and conservation programs. He will also give a broad overview of new programs and changes to Farm Service Agency programs due to Farm Bill.
