It's that time of year when the library needs to make room for new periodicals. Free magazines are available in a variety of titles that will appeal to just about everyone. There is no limit in how many you take; the magazines are on the main level of the library while supplies last.

A new art exhibit is displayed on the main floor of the library. Usually seen ornamenting barns, homes and garages, wind vanes are working pieces of beautiful art. They are still useful to sailors, farmers, pilots or anyone whose activity is affected by the wind.

The third grade art enrichment class from Carroll Elementary has designed their own working wind vanes. The wind vanes are for indoors only and catch the whimsy of early artists, making art out of useful objects. Art enrichment is taught by Grace Woodruff.

The library's book club will discuss the highly acclaimed novel, "Water for Elephants," by Sara Gruen during its next meeting on Jan. 21. The group meets at the Flora Senior Center at 10 a.m. All ages are welcome. Extra copies of the book are available for checkout.

The theme for next storytime is "Penguins." The best dressed animals in the world are penguins! Visit the South Pole for some icy cold fun! Storytime is Tuesday morning at 10 a.m.
