Rack 'N' Roll has opened in downtown Flora, offering pool and arcade games, along with jukebox music and inexpensive snacks and soft drinks.

Owners are Dave Hall of Delphi and Joe Sandifur of Rossville. Hall's wife, Rebecca, and Sandifur will operate the business.

It is open Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m.; Friday, 4 to 10 p.m.; and Saturday, 2 to 10. Hall said some adjustments may be made to the Friday and Saturday hours.

The establishment is closed on Tuesdays and Sundays, but the owners say it can be rented out on those days for private parties or pool tournaments.

Under new ownership, the building has been remodeled and new lighting added.

Hall said pinball machines and more games and snack selections will be arriving soon.

"It's still a work in progress," he said. The game room is for all ages, but the Halls said they had youth in mind when they opened the business. No smoking or alcohol is allowed.

"Hopefully it will give kids something to do and keep them off the streets," Rebecca Hall said.

The owners say they are keeping the prices low - 50 cents a game for pool and 25 cents for most of the arcades - so it will be affordable for young people.

The family also will operate two other businesses in the back of the building. Hall said one is a small graphics business called Ho-Made Graphics, and the other is Rack 'N' Roll Auctions. He said the drop off auction service sells items on eBay for other people. He expects both of these businesses to get rolling in February.

The new Flora enterprises are a sideline for Hall, who is also a working electrician. His wife also works in the cafeteria at Delphi Community Middle School.

The grand opening for Rack 'N' Roll will be Jan. 17.
