Delphi Lions Club sponsors Peace Poster Contest

Lions Clubs around the world sponsor the Lions International Peace Poster Contest in local schools and youth groups yearly. This contest encourages young people to artistically express their visions of peace.

Delphi Lions Club invites students ages 11, 12 and 13 to enter this year. Three winners will be selected from the Delphi area.

Winners will receive monetary awards, be invited to attend a recognition dinner and the first-place winner's work will advance to a regional competition.

The theme this year is "Peace Begins With Me." Deadline for completed posters is Oct. 17. A Lions Club member will pick up the posters at the Delphi middle school or the Library.

Participants may use charcoal, crayon, pencil, markers or paint. The use of numbering or lettering on the front of the poster, in any language, is not allowed. Artwork must be done on flexible poster board no smaller than 13x20 inches and no larger than 20x24 inches. All artwork must be student created.
