Robert Wilson
He died Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at 6:59 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Lafayette. He had been a patient there for ten days. He was born June 26, 1914, in Delphi, to the late Francis and Mary McDonald Wilson. He graduated from Delphi High School in 1933. On Sept. 15, 1939, in Monticello, he married Maxine Hendrickson. She preceded him in death July 18, 1996. Mr. Wilson retired from the former Globe Valve factory in Delphi in 1980, after 36 years as maintenance manager. He was a member of the Delphi United Methodist Church and a life member of the former Mt. Olive Masonic Lodge in Delphi. He was also a member of the Lafayette Historic Car Club. He enjoyed watch and clock repair, and was a licensed watchmaker for over 60 years. Surviving are five nephews, Bill Wilson and Ray Wilson (wife: Coleen), both of Lafayette, Jim Wilson (wife: Edie) of Madison, Wisc., Tom Wilson (wife: Deb) of Chicago, Ill., and Tom Bridwell; four nieces, Ann Chulk (husband: Bob) of Indianapolis, Kay Talley (husband: Newton) of Greenwood, Joann Wade (husband: Dan) of West Lafayette, and Mary Jane Tangedahl (husband: Lee) of Missoula, Mont.; and special friend, Robert Burkhalter (wife: Martha) of Lafayette. He was preceded in death by his twin sister, four other sisters, and two brothers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Delphi United Methodist Church or to the American Heart Association (envelopes available at the funeral home).
