Norma G. Flora

Norma Geraldine Everett Flora, 84, formerly of Delphi, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at 3:45 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Delphi. She had been a resident there since Nov. 13, 2005.

She was born Jan. 30, 1924, in Flora, to the late James Emmerson and Ocie McGuire Everett. She was a 1942 graduate of Cutler High School. Her marriage was to Paul D. Flora in Flora on Nov. 3, 1961, and he preceded her in death July 5, 1987.

Mrs. Flora worked at the former Gerber-Globe Valve factory in Delphi for several years. She and her husband lived in Flora for many years, retiring and moving to Bonita Springs, Fla., where she worked at a Dairy Queen. She moved back to Delphi in 1989.

She belonged to the Cutler Alumni Association and enjoyed crocheting, knitting and working puzzles.

Surviving are a half-brother, Bill Everett (wife: Janet) of Delphi, and three step-grandchildren.

Mrs. Flora was preceded in death by a stepson, a brother, five half-brothers and two halfsisters.

Friends may call Friday from noon until the time of service at 2 p.m. at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi. The Rev. Ed Selvidge will officiate. Burial will be at Zion Citizens Cemetery, rural Bringhurst.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
