Hosea R. McClain
He was born Aug. 8, 1936, in Plymouth, to Coleman and Rachael Faye Roberts McClain. He attended Plymouth schools. His marriage was to Dierdre Hosang in Carroll County on Aug. 25, 1974, and she survives. Mr. McClain was a carpenter and creator of fine cabinetry. He retired from McClain Woodworking as a self-employed carpenter in 1998. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1963 and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a lifetime endowed member of Mt. Zion Lodge #211 F&AM and Delphi VFW. Mr. McClain enjoyed woodworking and fishing. Surviving are his wife in Delphi; four daughters, Sherry Mc- Clain of Monon, Laura Bernfield (husband: Jeff) of Monticello, Dawn Haan (husband: Rick) of West Lafayette and Barbara Rickels (husband: Bret) of Delphi; two sons, Matthew McClain and Bud Smart (wife: Faith), all of Delphi; three sisters, Jane Herbster of Lakeville, Joan Linne of Arizona and Barbara Frame of Huntington; two brothers, Dennis McClain of Fort Wayne and Sonny McClain of Amboy; 18 grandchildren; and seven greatgrandchildren. Mr. McClain was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Linda Triggol, a granddaughter, Jessica Susanne Bernfield; and a faithful companion, Homey Hound. Visitation will be today, Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 at Oak Grove Christan Church near Monticello. Ashli Cartwright- Peak will officiate.
