Sheriff's Youth Leadership Camp applications available

Carroll County students in grades seven and eight who may be interested in a career in law enforcement will have a chance to learn more about the line of work this summer.

Carroll County Sheriff Tony Burns announced the 29th Annual Indiana Sheriff's Youth Leadership Camp for northern Indiana will be June 23 to 25 at Ross Camp in West Lafayette. Any girl or boy currently enrolled in seventh or eighth grade can apply to attend.

Burns said the camp will bring together students from throughout the state for a "very meaningful experience and relationship" with sheriff officers, who will serve as counselors and instructors.
