FEMA to hold public assistance briefing Public assistance applicants are notified to attend an applicant briefing to be eligible for funding. Applicants may include: • Highway and city/town street departments; • County surveyors; • Publicly owned water treatment plants; • Publicly owned sewer syst ems; • County/city wells, water supplies; • County/city waste managem ent; • Public buildings, schools, libraries; • County courthouse; • County/city fire departments; • County/city infrastructure • Private non-profits; and • Non-profits ditch districts. A representative from each entity will need to be present to sign the Request for Public Assistance at the Applicant Briefing. (If the request is not submitted, the entity will not be eligible for funding). Also, the person who will be doing the applicant's paperwork should attend the Applicant Briefing. Bring telephone and fax numbers along with other contact numbers to the meeting. (If FEMA cannot locate or contact the recipient, funding will not be forthcoming). Instructions and forms will be available at the Applicant Briefing. Those with documentation of completed costs are asked to bring them along. Kick-off meetings can immediately follow the Applicant Briefing. FEMA inspectors will be present to start scheduling appointments. For additional information contact, Carmen L.
