'Month of Saturdays' river event is underway

According to a press release from Carroll County Emergency Management Agency Director Dave McDowell, the recent request for dumpster donations to aid cleanup activities along the Tippecanoe River in Carroll County has begun to show results.

Therapeutic Innovations, of Brookston, will place a large dumpster for river cleanup debris at the boat landing on the river near SR 18. The dumpster will be in place throughout May. The location was authorized by INDOT's Monticello sub-district manager, Mark Kelly.

River users are encouraged to bring river debris to the dumpster location to begin the rebeautification of the Tippecanoe River.

Red Cross representatives also plan to be in the affected areas on the weekends throughout May, in support of the "Month of Saturdays" cleanup program.
