Roger W. Wine

Roger W. Wine, 71, of Delphi, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at 3:33 a.m. unexpectedly at his residence.

He was born Oct. 9, 1936, in Summit Station, Ohio, to the Layton and Lillian Appleman Wine. His marriage was to Barbah L. Austin in Carroll County, on July 21, 1991, and she survives.

He was a 1954 graduate of Licking Heights High School in Ohio and a 1958 graduate of Ohio State University. He moved from Nashua, N.H., to Carroll County in 1971.

Mr. Wine was a Certified Crop Advisor. He was employed at Eller Fertilizer in Flora, from 1991 to October 2006, when he retired. He had previously worked at other area agriculture and chemical supply companies.

He enjoyed landscaping, gardening, crossword puzzles, and golfing.

Surviving with his wife are two sons, Stan Wine (wife: Kristina) of Greenfield and Thomas Wine (wife: Londa) of Indianapolis; a daughter, Sherri L. Wine of Rossville; two stepsons, Ron W. Ginn of Delphi and David Ginn (wife: Jennifer) of Indianapolis; two sisers, Kathleen Fravel (husband: Herb) of Edison, Ohio, and Betty Goodman (husband: Jim) of Texas; his former wife, Theresa A. Wine of Flora; three grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter and a brother.

Services were held Friday at Abbott Funeral Home, Delphi. The Rev. Ed Selvidge officiated.
