Deer Creek Alumni

Deer Creek Alumni Association met at the Deer Creek Community Center recently with 96 attending.

Officers for 2009 are: Charles Appleton, president; Joyce Brubaker, vice president; Lois Wallace, secretary; Kenny Yeakley, treasurer.

Special music was presented by Kevin, Karen, Katrina and Kurtis Robeson.

Lavon Johnson was honored for being the oldest living graduate of Deer Creek. Helping with the presentation were her nephew, Emmett Herr, and niece, Barbara Ottinger. Lavon graduated in 1931.

The Class of 1958 was honored. They were the last graduating class of Deer Creek High School. Attending from the class were: Nancy Larimore, Nancy Chapman Weaver, Jane Gish LaDuct, Emmett Herr, Rodney Packard, Lois Downham Gibbs, Phyllis Cohee Pufahl, Judy Bowman Leach, Ben Dillon, Karmen Kuszmaul. Clifford Shriver was also a member of the class.

The 2009 alumni reunion will be the third Saturday in April at the Deer Creek Community Center.

Burlington Alumni

One hundred twenty-nine members and guests attended the 99th annual Burlington Alumni Banquet held April 26 in the Community Building.

Honor classes were introduced: 80-year, 1928, 1 of 18 living, none present; 75 year, 1933, 4 of 22 living, none present; 70-year, 1938, 12 of 20 living with 4 present and a guest; 65-year, 1943, 5 of 15 living with 3 present and 3 guests; 60-year, 1948, 9 of 13 living with 2 present and a guest; 55-year, 1953, 8 of 11 living with 3 present and 3 guests; and 50-year, 1958, 21 of 27 living with 15 present and 9 guests.

A memorial service by Bob Davis was held for 17 deceased members.

The evening's entertainment was by the Tonsil Klackers of Lafayette.

Door prize winners were Esther Stout for being the oldest women present; Charles Mummert for being the oldest man present; Harley Pullen and Myrna Billiard.

The 50-year class had a gettogether before the banquet. A special guest was John Barber and his wife, who was their class sponsor from 7th through 12th grades. Eighteen classmembers and guests attended.

DCHS Class of 1988

The DCHS Class of 1988 will celebrate its 20-year reunion on July 19 in Lafayette.

Adams Twp. Alumni

The Adams Township Alumni Association will hold its annual school reunion banquet May 17 at 6 p.m. in the Burnettsville Beehive gymnasium. Doors will open at 5.
