Library Delphi Public Join the library for Cinema Night May 15 at 7 p.m. for "Dan In Real Life" starring Steve Carrell. Carrell stars as a single parent struggling to raise three daughters. Refreshments and discussion follow. Local musician, songwriter, and poet Eric Hicks will perform at the May 17, 7 p.m. Coffee Beat. Hicks brings an easy style to his performance. His lyrics speak in a wise and witty take on life events. Faith Inspired Book Club will meet to discuss "Crossing Over" by Ruth Irene Garrett May 22 at 9 a.m. The story is of Garrett who was raised in the strict Old Order Amish faith. She was brought up in a world filled with rigid rules and intense secrecy and crosses over to contemporary life to fully explore the foreign and frightening reality in hope of better understanding her emotional and spiritual desires. Multiple copies of this title are available at the library. Two opportunities await those who would like to become involved in the library's community theatre. Stargazers Children's Theatre will hold auditions for "Guys and Dolls Jr." May 27. Children grades kindergarten through those who have completed the eighth grade are eligible to audition. Those who have completed ninth grade, or older, may audition for Red Brick Theatre's summer production of "Out of the Frying Pan." Auditions for the 1940s era comedy will be held June 3 from 6 to 8 p.m.18J library-Flora Flora-Monroe Township Wireless laptop computers are now on hand to use in the library for adults age 18 and older. Now you can write that resume or term paper without having to worry about time limits. Printing capabilities are also available. For more information, inquire at the main desk. The Get Fit, Flora! program is now half way over. The group is also working with the state's Ready, Set, Walk initiative sponsored by first lady Cheri Daniels. The new program has stressed the importance of pedometers to encourage more steps per day. Last week the focus was eating for strong bones and muscles to help you get the maximum performance from your exercise. Get Fit, Flora! meets Thursday evenings at 7:15 p.m. New members are always welcome. Take a break while you're in the library and visit the Book Nook Coffee Shop. Hot coffee and tea, ice cold soda, and even candy bars to munch on! Grab a book, newspaper or magazine then relax and refresh without leaving the building! The Book Nook is open during library operating hours. The theme of the next storytime will be "Mother's Day." We will celebrate mothers and why they are so special. There will also be stories about everyone's favorite fictional mother, Mother Goose! Storytime is Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m. Tune in to Dial-a-Story to hear Carroll Elementary student Adam Beaver read, "An Idiot" by James Whitcomb Riley.
