Canal Earth Day project
Volunteers at the Canal Earth Day worked in several areas, including the Carrollton Bridge interpretive site. In all, 84 volunteers came out for the Earth Day/Work Day. Workers pictured here are grading stone near a sign describing the evolution of bridges at the site. The U-shape configuration was created last fall, using 1838 cut stone found in the bottom of the river, from the first bridge. There will be a dedication of the site, the restored present bridge, and the newly designated "water trail" on Father's Day. Photo provided
