Yeoman receives grant to fund wastewater study
Comet staff report

The Town of Yeoman has been awarded a $39,600 planning grant to fund a wastewater utility and storm water drainage feasibility study. The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs administers the planning grants through the Small Cities and Towns Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.

The study will analyze the town's wastewater and storm water systems using aerial photography, land surveying, hydrology and preliminary engineering. It will provide recommendations and assess future community service needs within the incorporated limits of the town.

The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs was created by legislation in 2005, making rural Indiana a major focus for the first time. Lt. Governor Becky Skillman was appointed as the first-ever Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development. For additional information on OCRA and its programs visit www.in.gov/ocra.
