4-H News 2008 4-H Fair Plans are in full swing for the 2008 Carroll County 4-H Fair. The annual event will be July 11-18. 4-H'ers who exhibit building projects will participate in open judging on June 28, shooting sports; July 2, sewing, consumer clothing and Fashion Revue; and July 10-12, all others. Other upcoming 4-H events include animal enrollment dates: • Beef (Registered Heifers, Dairy Feeder Steers, Prospect Steers and Heifers) - May 15 • Goats - May 5 - 6 pm - 7:30 pm • Horses - May 7 - 6 - 6:45 p.m. and May 15 - 6 - 7:30 p.m. • Llama and Alpaca - May 15 • Rabbits - July 2 • Sheep - April 26 - 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. or May 12 - 4:30 - 6:30 p.m. • Swine - May 15. • Open Beef Show - June 7. Dates of other 4-H events including workshops can be found on the Carroll County 4- H website: www.extension.purdue. edu/Carroll Tippecanoe Triumphs "Funny Socks" led the way for the April 8 meeting of the Tippecanoe Triumphs 4-H Club. A recap of the previous meeting and the confirmation of this year's community service projects followed. Club members decided they will assist with Canal Days, collect pop tabs for Riley Hospital, plant flags on veterans' graves, and collect food for the food pantry. Demonstrations were presented by Nathan Springer - "Things That Can Burn You" and Maggie Sturdivant - "Baby Monkeys." The club's next meeting will be April 22 at 7 p.m. The theme is "Backwards Day." |
