Delphi opens season with home meet Delphi boys' and girls' track and field teams opened their season at home on April 3 versus West Lafayette and Twin Lakes. The meet marked the first competition on the newly redone track. West Lafayette won both meets with the Oracles finishing closely behind Twin Lakes for third. Delphi had two first place finishers. Junior Olivia George won the girls high jump with a leap of 4' 8" and first-time runner junior A.J. Erskin won the boys 300 meter hurdles. Second place finishers for the girls were: 400 meter relay team of George, Mara Burton, Alisha Myers, and Chelsey Marcotte; Kari Lake in the 400 meter run; and Kylee German in the shot put and the discus. Second place finishers for the boys were: 3200 meter relay team of Kris Bender, Zachary Schnepp, J.D. Huffer, and Ryan Everett; Erskin in the 110 high hurdles; and the 1600 meter relay team of Huffer, Bender, Matt Wilcox, and Jonathan Hufford. The track and field teams traveled to Frontier on Tuesday and will be at Lewis Cass on Thursday. |
