Mable E. Adsit

Mable Edith (Arion) Adsit, 89, of Delphi, died at 2 a.m. Monday, April 7, 2008, at St. Anthony's Nursing Home, Lafayette.

Born Dec. 26, 1918, in Burrows, she was the daughter of George and Mable Hardy Arion. She attended school in Burrows and Rockfield. On April 15, 1939, in Delphi, she married Leon Adsitt. He preceded her in death on April 20, 2004.

Mrs. Adsit was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, walking and was a voracious reader.

She was a member of Lockport Church where she was very active, and Liberty Belles Extension Homemakers Club.

She resided in Burrows for 57 years before moving to Lafayette six months ago.

Surviving are two sons, Stan Adsit (wife: June) of Indianapolis and David Adsit (wife: Rebecca) of Royal Center; one brother, George Arion Jr. of Flora; two sisters, Krenta Keller (husband: Donald) of Rossville and Doris Blackburn (husband: Leonard) of Flora; two granddaughters, Amy Mathews (husband: John) of Brownsburg and Brandi Maloy of Logansport; two grandsons, Clint Adsit and Emil Adsit, both of Royal Center; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold, and two sisters, Helen and Betty.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Cree Funeral Home, Camden. Pastor Nord Zootman will officiate. Burial will be at Burrows Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Lockport Church.
