Preschool Trike-A-Thon to raise funds for St. Jude
Comet staff report

The community can help save lives by becoming involved in a St. Jude Trike-A-Thon event to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

The event, scheduled for April 18, is sponsored by First Step Preschool in Flora. By supporting the event, community members will help raise funds for the internationally recognized hospital. These funds will help St. Jude in its ongoing fight against childhood catastrophic diseases.

Last year the Flora preschool raised $997 for St. Jude.

"This year our goal is to break $1,000," said Linda Isaacs, preschool director.

The Trike-A-Thon is designed to expose preschoolers to using riding toys safely through a week-long fun activity. It also provides a parentawareness program that involves the parents in safe behavior practices to help ensure their child's well-being.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is internationally recognized for its pioneering work in finding cures and saving children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. It was founded by the late entertainer, Danny Thomas, and is based in Memphis, Tenn. No family ever pays for treatments not covered by insurance, and families without insurance are never asked to pay.

Those interested in participating or making a donation can call Linda Isaacs at 574-967- 3509. For more information, visit www.stjude.org/trike.
