CES math team
Carroll Elementary math team recently competed in the area Math Bowl at Galveston Elementary. Carroll competed in Class 1, a division for K-6 schools with a large student enrollment. Three other Classes competed at the host site. Carroll tied with Eastern for third place. It took three tie breakers before Eastern came out ahead. "Carroll students did a fabulous job with their problem solving skills and techniques. I was very proud of the team," said coach Jana Conn. Math Bowl scores are compiled from all over the state, and the schools in each class are ranked statewide, based on their performance. Carroll was ranked 44th out of 85 schools. Carroll parents participating in the Parent Round at Galveston were Van Taylor, John Conn, and Greg Caldwell. The Parent Round keeps everyone busy while the judges tabulate the final scores and tie breakers for the awards presentation.
