Announcements AMERICAN LEGION AUXILIARY UNIT 75 will meet April 16 at 2 p.m. in the Legion Hall on S. Washington Street, Delphi. CARROLL COUNTY GARDEN CLUB will meet April 12 from 10 a.m. to noon at the home of Steve and Maxine Brewer, 2175E CR400S, Bringhurst. The group will finalize plans for the 2008 Carroll County Garden Fair and work on job lists. To get to the Brewers' from Flora, take SR75 to CR350S, turn left, cross CR200E to the first house on the left. Call (765) 268-2382 for information. Delphi First Presbyterian Church will hold its SENIOR CITIZENS MONTHLY LUNCHEON April 16 at noon in the church Fellowship Hall. There is an elevator available for those in need. Carroll County Social Service Network will hold a SOCIAL SERVICE LUNCHEON April 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Solomon's Grille, 101 W. Front St., in Delphi. DELPHI SPRING CLEAN-UP will be April 14 and 15 for the Friday trash route. FRIENDS OF CARROLL COUNTY PARKS will hold a work day at Deer Creek Park April 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to prepare for the opening of camping season. Volunteers are welcome. The second and final call out meeting for Miss Carroll County 4-H FAIR QUEEN will be April 16 at the Delphi United Methodist Church at 6:30 p.m. Any interested girl who wants to participate and cannot attend should contact Miss Carroll County Queen chairperson Deb Foreman at 574-686-2674 or by e-mail at missdebfore@ yahoo.com or the Purdue Extension office at 765-564-3169. The not-for-profit FREEDOM MISSION in Delphi will be the beneficiary of a FUNDRAISER FISH FRY to be held Friday at the Freedom Center in Delphi. The all-youcan eat dinner will be served from 4 to 9 p.m. The RED CROSS BLOODMOBILE will be in Flora on April 17 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 107 N. Main St. Requirements to donate include: at least 17 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, and in good general health. All donors need to present positive identification. The RED CROSS BLOODMOBILE will visit Carroll County on Thursday, April 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, 107 E. Main Street, Flora. The area church with the most volunteer donors will receive $100, a gift from the Flora Psi Iota Xi. To make an appointment, call 1-800-GIVE LIFE. Walk-ins are welcome. CARROLL COUNTY WABASH & ERIE CANAL ASSOCIATION'S annual meeting will be April 15 at the Canal Conference & Interpretive Center. Dessert and beverages will be available at 6:30 p.m., and the program will begin at 7. Shirley Willard, Fulton County historian, will speak on the "Trail of Death." A portion of the trail crosses Carroll County. The public is welcome to attend. There is no admission charge. Carroll County Farm Bureau and Carroll County Extension Homemakers will be hosting FRIENDS' DAY at the Burlington Community Building on April 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. The theme for the day is "Kitchen Klassics," and the programs are "Kitchens - They've Come a Long Way" by Joanne Lytton, "Pies" by Kristen's Bakery in Burlington and "Tie One On - History of Aprons" by Esther Duncan. Those attending are asked to bring an apron. Lunch will be served by the Stone House. Register by contacting the Extension Office, 765-564-3169.
