Lillian L. Hensley
She died March 21, 2008, at Northwoods Village Healthcare Center in Kokomo. Born Aug. 13, 1926, in Cass County, she was the daughter of Carl N. and Mae Babb Schwalm. She married Richard D. Hensley on Feb. 18, 1945, in Cass County, and he preceded her in death on May 21, 1981. Mrs. Hensley was a homemaker and worked at Stephan's IGA in Flora for several years. She was a member of Upper Deer Creek United Church of Christ, Galveston, where she was very active until her later years. She was also Worthy Matron of the Galveston Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Home Ec. Club, Farmeretts of Howard County. Lillian was a very outgoing, friendly, loving person, who easily made friends wherever she went. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Surviving are two daughters, Jane Edson (husband: Ed) of Indianapolis, and Beverly Johnson of Old Mill Creek, Ill.; three sons, Joe Hensley (wife: Carolyn) of Flora, Max Hensley (wife: Cathy) of Walton, and Paul Hensley (wife: Ismelda) of Riverview, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Hensley of Greentown; a brother, Raymond Schwalm of Logansport; 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were her parents; two sons, Roger and John Carl; a brother, Ralph Schwalm; and three sisters, Dorothy Wolford, Lida Presler and Carol Rush.
