Charles R. Wynn

Charles R. Wynn, Lt. Col., Retired Air Force, 86, of Crestview, Fla., formerly of rural Delphi, died Feb. 25, 2008.

He was born March 5, 1921, in Atlanta, Ga.

He joined the Air Force in 1942 and during World War II flew combat missions in the China, Burma, India Theatre, crossing the Himalaya Mountain area known as "The Hump," He then served in Korea and Vietnam.

During his 27 years of military service he received 26 commendation medals.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Mary Martin Wynn, and a son, Martin Wynn.

Burial was at Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Fla.
