Area IV receives weatherization award The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) has announced the appropriation of its 2008 Weatherization Awards. IHCDA will distribute the annual U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Weatherization funds, totaling $6,414,468 to Community Action Agencies including Area IV Agency on Aging and Community Action Programs, Inc., which will receive $244,734. Service area for Area IV includes Carroll, Clinton, Tippecanoe and White counties. The Weatherization Assistance Program provides comprehensive weatherization services to low-income households. "Weatherization activities can significantly reduce the amount of energy a household uses," said Sherry Seiwert, Executive Director of IHCDA. "Lower usage means a lower utility bill, which can make a big difference in a low-income family's budget." |
