Horseshoe Bend resident charged with robbery

Livia M. Westlake- Trent, 34, of Horseshoe Bend, was arrested Friday after allegedly robbing the Lafayette Bank & Trust in Brookston late Friday afternoon.

According to police, the robber wore sunglasses, a blue hooded sweatshirt, white gloves and a ball cap, displayed a handgun and demanded the Brookston Branch employee put money into a bag. After receiving the money the robber left the bank and reportedly drove away in a gold colored Ford Taurus.

Bank employees identified the robber as Westlake-Trent, who was arrested in Horseshoe Bend on suspicion of armed robbery, a Class B felony; battery on a police office, a Class D felony, and resisting law enforcement, a Class D felony. Westlake-Trent was being held in White County Jail, Monticello, on a $500,000 cash bond. The robbery occurred at 5:27 p.m. and only employees were in the bank.

Assisting the Indiana State Police in the investigation are the following police departments, Brookston, White County, Carroll County, Monticello, and Delphi, White County Prosecutor's Office, and the Lafayette Office of the FBI.
