Announcements Marilyn Keeler of Camden is leading the new Logansport Branch of EXTENDED FAMILY, a support system for families of prisoners. The group will have its first meeting tonight, April 2, at 7 p.m. in the clubhouse at Logansport Senior Citizen Village, 2626 George Street. Extended Family is a community-based organization, and is not tied to any one church or religion. Members are welcome from all faiths or no faith. The ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN BUSINESS OWNERS in the greater Lafayette area meets at the MCL Cafeteria in West Lafayette at 11:45 a.m. on the second Tuesday of every month. CANAL EARTH DAY will be April 19, beginning at 9 a.m. at Canal Park in Delphi. Volunteers are needed for general clean-up work and tree planting. The two major work sites will be the area at the foot of the Carrollton Bridge and around the Blue Bridge along the canal towpath near Pizza Hut. Brian Stirm will be at Canal Park with the trolley to transport workers to those sites. Lunch will be served to all working volunteers. Dick Curts of Flora does TAX RETURNS FREE OF CHARGEfor those who qualify as low income, disabled or elderly. His service was established through the AARP/IRS, but is not a part of those entities. He reminds citizens that to qualify for the Economic Stimulus check, it is necessary to file returns whether they owe taxes or not. Appointments for the free tax service are necessary. LIFE AROUND ROSSVILLE SCHOOLS (LARS) spring meeting is Tuesday, April 29, at 6 p.m. at the MCL Cafeteria in West Lafayette. The Rossville Area Transit Van will be available. The City of Delphi announced DELPHI SPRING CLEAN-UP will be April 9 and 10 for the Thursday trash route and April 16 and 17 for the Friday route. Carroll County Soil & Water Conservation District will offer an INDIANA MASTER NATURALIST training program at Camp Collum in Clinton County from Sept. 8 to Oct. 27. The program is a hands-on opportunity to learn about Indiana's natural resources and share the knowledge through volunteer services. Early registration is encouraged. Space is limited.
