Burlington Park Board will meet at 7 p.m. April 1 in the Community Building. Community Club will meet at 7 p.m. April 7 in the Community Building. Kiwanis Club will meet at 7:30 a.m. Saturday for breakfast and meeting at the fire station. On April 5, Kiwanis Club will sponsor its annual Pork Tenderloin Dinner from 4:30 to 8 p.m. in the Community Building. Proceeds from the event will go to Tony and Denise Dowden so they can build a safe place to play for their son, Jacob, who is autistic and cannot verbally commuicate. Burlington United Methodist Church will have a workday Saturday, starting at 9:30 a.m., to move the pastor. Faith Church's Bible Snapshots will meet at 6:30 p.m. April 2 at the church. WMS will meet at 6 p.m. April 2 at Carter's. Oakland Christian Church Jail Ministries will be March 27 for Carroll County and April 1 for Clinton County. Sunday evening service at Oakland Christian Church will begin at 6 p.m. Easter Egg Hunt One hundred four children participated in the Kiwanis Club's annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday. Each child received a $1 gold coin and bag of candy. Six bicycles were given away. Winners were: Ages 3, 4 and kindergarten - Colby Rush and Kamilah Hamilton; 1st, 2nd & 3rd grades - Lauren Claxton and Alex Jackson; and 4th, 5th & 6th grades - Logan Jackson and Rebecca Hunt. Winning scooters were Eli Falkenberg and Nathan Michael. Winners of the two large Easter baskets were Erinn Clark and Taylor Copeland. Area merchants and individuals helped furnish prizes and donations. |
